Wow! Awesome drawing... How long did it take you to draw it? Great! That background seems to very difficult to draw... Could you tell us how did you do the background? Did you blend it? How many layers? Very impressing.
the background took maybe about 3-4hrs. I make strokes that make small squares and I change direction often, if I explained correctly and the paper is very smooth so one layer with 8B is enough. then I go with a soft eraser over it one time. in the end I use soft lead stick to cover it so the pencil strokes almost disappear. of course since it is lead it has a certain reflection and you can't see that here because I have taken a photo of it in a shadow and without a flash.. but it's beautiful because the lead has a certain glow like little sparkles so in light looks nice and shiny
Thanks a lot for the explanation I really appreciate it. I believe that those little sparkles look nice, because the whole drawing is very beautiful One more question: does 'soft lead stick' look like that one? [link] You should make some tutorial and share your magic with us
that is how my 8B pencil looks like and the lead stick I was talking about is actually this: [link] I have the exact ones, hard, medium and soft. they are great for treating the large areas and blending..
as for the tutorial, well I mostly don't have a method, I always try out something different and new with almost every drawing so that's why you'll find really various types of drawings and paintings in my gallery but maybe I could make something with tips and stuff
